We are thrilled to announce that this year's Government Education Day was a tremendous success! Our Corpsmembers had an incredible time during the two-day event, which was filled with valuable learning, engaging team building activities, and fun.
One of the many highlights of the event was the opportunity for our Corpsmembers to connect with youths from other Conservation Corps across California. They had the chance to build personal connections and explore new opportunities, while also showcasing their pride in the Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps (SRCC).
Moreover, this event provided an outstanding opportunity for our Corpsmembers to learn about state government, engage with legislators, and represent the voices of their communities. Speaking directly to policymakers and state leaders helped to boost their confidence and self-efficacy, providing them with valuable experiences that will benefit their future success.
Government Education Day is an incredibly important occasion because it allows legislators to gain firsthand insight into the local corps mission and its impact on the community directly from the youth. We are extremely proud to have participated in this event and look forward to future opportunities for our Corpsmembers to engage with state leaders and make a positive impact in our community.
