SRCC Corpsmembers Shine at Assembly Budget Subcommittee Hearing

This week, Paula Birdsong, SRCC Executive Director, along with several of our Corpsmembers attended the Assembly Budget Subcommittee hearing on behalf of CALCC. This hearing provided a crucial opportunity to discuss the positive impact that local corps have on the lives of Corpsmembers, as well as express concerns over proposed reductions in Nature-based Solution (NBS) funding that would adversely affect Corpsmembers across the state.

Our Corpsmembers represented SRCC and all Corpsmembers statewide with passion, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Their presentations were so impressive that committee chair Steve Bennett recognized them as the best advocates of the day! We couldn't be prouder of our Corpsmembers and want to give a special shoutout to Tierra Williams, Elliott Thomas, Abert Wise-Reeves, and Rodrigo Uribe for their exceptional work.

We're thrilled to see our Corpsmembers advocating for the important work they do and the positive impact they have on our communities. It's a true testament to their dedication and passion for making a difference in the world. We can't wait to see what amazing things our Corpsmembers will do next!
