Program Structure

Are you between the ages of 18-26 and looking to earn money while furthering your education and career? Take a look at what we have to offer at SRCC and see if it's a good fit for you!

Work Training

As a corpsmember, you earn money while learning. Corpsmembers receive a paycheck for participating in the program and working on job training projects, starting at $16/hr, and have the opportunity to earn additional money through bonuses. Such projects include public beautification, vegetation management, trail construction, habitat restoration, tree trimming, fire fuel reduction, gas pipeline inspection, storm drain and channel clearance. The majority of these tasks require physical manual labor, which may include, but is not limited to:

  • Lifting

  • Stooping

  • Pushing

  • Pulling

  • Walking on uneven grounds

Though challenging, when a corpsmember completes the program, they are much more employable, have gained the skills and confidence to excel in and out of the workplace, and have gained an understanding of the importance of resource conservation and giving back to the community.
