Norma Naylor

Director of Corpsmember Development

In September 2005, Norma joined the Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps as the remedial reading teacher. Early in 2006 she partnered with another teacher to lead SRCC’s outreach program, SATRAP, in

which Corpsmembers brought conservation and recycling information to schools and students in the Sacramento area.

After SATRAP, Norma became SRCC’s Recruiter and Intake Coordinator while continuing her role as remedial reading teacher. Her next position at the SRCC was Corpsmember Services Manager, which entailed monitoring the staff and program requirements of SRCC’s Youth Build and Cal GRIP programs. As Corpsmember Services Manager, Norma also monitored John Muir Charter School student intake and records, coordinated and provided corpsmember services and taught general education and life skill classes, orientation courses and remedial reading.

Norma began with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a Clinical Rehab Credential at California State University, San Jose. In 1999, she added a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential through the University of California, Davis. Teaching experiences include teaching a self-contained 4th grade class, supervising and coordinating an elementary school reading lab and working as Co-Director of Education for Sylvan Learning Center. She is in the process of obtaining her Administrative Services Credential through California State University, Sacramento.
